Change your Life Today – 2 simple steps

in Living in the Presence,Your Brain

You might have heard “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks”. This is an urban legend that has conditioned most of our minds into believing we cannot change. Science has proven that our brains are constantly restructuring to the world around us – this is called Neuroplasticity.

The following are two very simple techniques you can start doing today to reclaim your mental energy to allow you to see & attract the good in life.

1. Be grateful for your daily experiences

In a diary, every evening write down couple of bullet points for everything you are grateful for today. It can be as simple as the beautiful flower you noticed or a great conversation you had with your spouse or a friend.
Research shows that after 21 days of doing this your outlook on life will have changed for the next 6 months. And if you continue for your life. You will see life in a more positive light day by day, see good things come your way and be open for more positive experiences. It is our conditioning that keeps us from noticing the beatuy that surrounds us and what some call “good luck”.

People who smile are generally more positive and happy, live longer, are more appealing as leader at work and have a better life style. Why wouldn’t you spend 5 minutes a day on this simple task.

2. Live in presence, the now

Do you remember when you spent in presence with your friends or family having a great laugh, nice dinner or a memorable chat. How you felt at that time. That memory is imprinted in you mind. How about the time you went to the beach or a rain forest and admired nature in silence. How did you feel. Was there an inner peace like nothing else in the world was of a concern.

This was presence, the moment we call NOW.

To start living in the now (closer to your source, the true self) you need to break your old pattern. The pattern of living in the future where fear lurks and / or in the past where regret looms like a heavy bag full of rocks. Become the observer. An observe of your feelings and thoughts. When a thought runs into your head worrying about what is there to come or what has happened realise that it is an illusion created by your egoistic mind, and let it go. Realize how this thought makes your body feel and know that you dont have to feel like this. Say, I akcnowledge the thought and let it fly by. Visualize this fly by process or make a soft “whoosh” sound to indicate the fly by. This visual and auditory process is part of the new you conditioning. You just played out the observer and realized what was happening around you and let it go.

As you walk in life try to observe the beatuy around you. The tress, a possum or squirell chilling out in the tree, the way the air passes through your hair, the way you breath life into your body, the energy life force moving through your veins and realize that there is only NOW.

May it be so. May the rest of your life, be the best of your life.
